Beth Welty
Johann Bach - Sonata for Violin Solo No. 2
J. S. Bach (1685-1750) is best known for his virtuoso keyboard work, but was also a highly skilled violinist, understanding intimately the possibilities of all the stringed instruments. This sonata is one of Bach's only three unaccompanied violin sonatas.
Beth Welty received her Bachelor and Master's degrees in violin performance from Indiana University, where she was a student of Yuval Yaron. She has performed with numerous groups in the Boston area, including the Boston Classical Orchestra, the Handel and Haydn Society, and the Pro Arte Chamber Orchestra.
