Cathy MacIntyre was the principal oboist of the Nashua Chamber Orchestra for 20 years, as well as an active member of the Board of Directors, Wind Manager, and Treasurer for the orchestra prior to moving to Delaware in 2008. Cathy has been a soloist with the NCO twice before. In 2007 she performed the World Premier of the Concerto for English Horn and Orchestra, by Robert Edward Smith and in 1998 she performed the Cimarosa Oboe Concerto. She was a founding member of the Eclectic Classical Woodwind Quintet. Cathy taught Music and Band at several Nashua elementary schools and oboe privately out of her home. She received a Bachelor of Music in Music Education from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and has studied with Jim Prodan, Jim Gavigan and Albert Goltzer. Despite her move to Delaware, Cathy continues to spend time each summer with many members of the orchestra at CAMMAC, a chamber music camp in the Laurentian Mountains of Canada.
